Spiritual Lesson.

Asking Why.

To be able to work through our fear of Unlovable, Unworthy, Nothing, Undeserving, Evil, Imperfect, or Broken, we first have to understand why.

Why we allowed ourselves to be in damaging relationships.

Why we settled for jobs that didn’t suit us and drained our energies.

Why we allowed ourselves to be on the receiving end of hurtful and neglectful behaviour.

And to do so, we have to go within where the dark resides.

Separation from Ourselves.

That dark is that space of judgment that we hold inside (our pain is caused by the judgment). It happens to everyone because our world is predicated on judgment, rules and external standards. We have been taught to live by them in order to get by in our society. So we turned on ourselves, judging and shaming our actions and behaviors in order to be accepted by our families, peers and lovers.

We separated who we are to who we thought we should be.

We separated right from wrong.

We separated from our divinity

Separating from our very divine essence hurts. It’s the pain of not being able to accept and love ourselves unconditionally. Because divinity is light and when we separate, we allow the dark to reside within us.

Getting Darker.

Going Dark means having to face every ounce of shame, sadness, hurt, and pain in order to move through the grief of who we became as a result of the separation.

Grief over having allowed ourselves to be small, which we thought would make our lives bearable but really only reflected back our pain time and again.

Going Dark reminds us of our powerlessness. When we are not connected to our divinity, we are not in our power. And when we face all the judgment, shame, and hurt, we are forced to confront that we have not (nor have we really ever been) in our power.

That’s what our karmic stories have been mirroring to us time and again: all the instances when we have not been in our power. And the sooner we can face it, the sooner we can begin to come into our power.

Powerful BE-ings.

Power isn’t conquering the enemy aka our emotions. Nor is it vanquishing our archnemesis aka karma. Power is knowing that no matter who I choose to be, no matter what I choose to do and no matter how I choose to live: I will do it because it brings me peace.

This requires Going Dark.

Only when we Go Dark and come through the other side can we know ourselves completely.

Only when we Go Dark can we experience the vast spectrum of our being.

Only when we Go Dark can we see there was never anything wrong with us in the first place.

And when we’ve come out of the dark and come into our power, can we begin the path to self-love.
