Karma 101

[00:04]   Liz: Hi, I'm Liz.

[00:05]   Rhea: And I'm Rhea.

[00:06]   Liz: Welcome to Karma's My Bitch. A podcast about Love.

[00:09]   Rhea: Sex

[00:10]   Liz: Connection

[00:11] Rhea: Abundance

[00:12] Liz: Joy

[00:13] Rhea: Purpose

[00:14] Liz: Peace

[00:15] Rhea: And how life isn't simply the stories we tell ourselves.

[00:20] Liz: I have always able to see things. It seems like I couldn't shake it, and I couldn't really live a "normal life" no matter how hard I tried. My life just took a few turns, so rather than sort of landing myself in a single city and building a career, I moved around quite a bit for more than a decade. And because of that, I ended up pursuing spiritual healing, because it just felt much more natural and it was something that, try as I might to find a conventional job and create a conventional life, it was just never going to work for me. I trained in a few things and read cards and practiced mediumship, but the one thing that I'd always planned on doing was learning Soul Memory because I'd met my teacher when I was about 19. I remember that session so clearly, and I remember that day. It really set me on my path.

[01:17]   Rhea: I remember my first session with you.

[01:19]   Liz: You do?

[01:20]   Rhea: Yeah, I do. Because we met in dance class in the gym. You pirouetted into my personal dance space and then I found ...

[01:27]   Liz: You could say I pirouetted well.

[01:28]   Rhea: Yeah, very well. And so, I remember finding out what you did. I'd been already on my own path for a while. Not so much spiritual, but I'd done a lot of work. I'd always been a great advocate for women. I'd done law, I'd worked in domestic violence. I'd helped change a law. I'd started my own business. You know, my career seemed to be going really well, and I was really great at seeing the external versions of dysfunctional relationships, and how that was being echoed throughout our society. But when it came to my own, I kept almost getting locked into the dysfunctional relationships so I knew I had to do some work on that. I started doing a lot of conventional work as well as some unconventional. And then after I met you, I came and did a session with you and you blew my mind. It's as simple as that. You knew things that no-one knew, that I hadn't told anyone. You were able to explain things to me in a way that I could understand it. And what for me was the most important thing is that you allowed me to not believe what I'd already known, but you reinforced what I'd secretly known and felt about myself and had never told a soul. I remember walking away going, fuck! She really knows her shit!

[02:54]   Liz: Oh, that's nice. Thank you.

[02:56]   Rhea: And so, we became friends and I continued. I started dating again and doing all these different things and just through our friendship, we learned so much about applying your spiritual practice to a normal life.

[03:12]   Liz: Yes.

[03:13]   Rhea: And we'd ask questions with... Just to say, Liz uses the pendulum. She speaks to the Guides, the Angels, whatever you want to call them. And we decided, you know what? Fuck it! Let's do a podcast. And as a result of the podcast, as a result of all the work we've done together, as a result of the books we've written together, we have learned so much about karma, about purpose, about Love, peace, bliss, about how really being able to bring that elevated consciousness and being able to create the life you truly desire in this reality

[03:53]   Liz: And figuring out what it is that you truly desire.

[03:56]   Rhea: Yeah. Yeah, exactly.

[03:58]   Liz: Which is often think one of the most challenging things.

[04:01]   Rhea: Yeah.

[04:01]   Liz: In spite of how simple it is, it's really not that easy

[04:05]   Rhea: Because really, everything that happens, what we think to us doesn't even happen for us. It happens by us.

[04:14]   Liz: Yes.

[04:15]   Rhea: And that is the key to everything. And so, over the course of these seasons, we will be discussing all the different ways in which we've given away our power. All the different ways in which we have sublimated our needs for other people, and in doing so we have reiterated to ourselves that we are not good enough. And we are going to talk about transcending that and how one does that, because really, whilst it might not be easy, it's simple.

[04:45]   Liz: Very much. And that really is the magic of karma and why it is possible to make karma your bitch. Because once you are able to boil down karma to its most simplistic form, it merely says, we are not good enough. But when we can see it for what that is, which is that we are good enough, we are God enough that at our core resides something so divine, which is the Divine, that that is how we are all connected. And so, when we talk about concepts like third dimensional Separation and how we want to move into fifth dimensional Oneness ...

[05:22]   Rhea: Yeah. Because that's everywhere now. Those are buzz words almost.

[05:26]   Liz: Right. And oneness definitely is. You hear it. It's about as common as astrology now. And so, in exploring what Oneness is, it comes down to the fact that we are not the same, we are not equal, but we are all One because we all have that one divine core.

[05:54]   Rhea: And even for those who don't necessarily believe in spirituality.

[05:48]   Liz: Which you certainly don't.

[05:50]   Rhea: And you definitely don't have to believe in God or religion.

[05:54]   Liz: Oh no. Not, not at all.

[05:55]   Rhea: There are enough episodes where we take that apart.

[05:57]   Liz: Yes.

[05:59]   Rhea: It's really about understanding that you are the most powerful being in your universe. And whilst you can share your universe with others, it's still your universe, and that is a big part of Oneness is that I recognize that I'm in my universe. I recognize that you are in yours. You are just as divine as I am.

[06:19]   Liz: Yes. And we share it all.

[06:20]   Rhea: Before we go and allow you guys to listen to the rest of the episodes ahead, it's worth us defining karma.

[06:29]   Liz: Okay, because this episode is called Karma 101.

[06:33]   Rhea: Yeah, so we have to explain what karma is.

[06:34]   Liz: Karma is the choice we make to move ourselves from Separation into Oneness, and karma is a result of that Separation.

[06:43]   Rhea: And when we talk about Separation, as we will continue to explain during the podcast?

[06:47]   Liz: Yes, Separation is a result of judgment and we use polarity to underscore that judgment. Separation is effectively the result of the trauma that says I and God are not One. And you don't have to believe in God to accept that. It could very well just be that in my ...

[07:05]   Rhea: I'm not powerful enough to change my life

[07:08]   Liz: In myself, I am separate. I am not whole. Something's missing and we judge ourselves from that space. If we're whole and we're at-one with ourselves, there's no judgment. I accept myself completely for who I am. Even if I can recognize that maybe I have some limitations, that's okay. I still do not hold judgment around that. So, karma is effectively the lesson, the steps that we take to come back into wholeness.

[07:33]   Rhea: You call it karma.

[07:34]   Liz: Oh yes.

[07:35]   Rhea: I call it the shit that happens.

[07:38]   Liz: Equally wonderful phrasing.

[07:39]   Rhea: But effectively it's the same thing. Yeah. It's the shit that happens that hurts. It's the shit that happens that you are scared of. It's the other shoe falling. It's the fear of the other shoe falling. It's the stuff that have happened to us in our lives that make us think that we are not good enough.

[07:56]   Liz: And so, there are seven themes around this karmic story that we can create. And we would normally pick just one of these themes to experience and learn through our karma.

[08:08]   Rhea: So basically, we all have the same karma, which is I Am not Good Enough. I am not powerful enough to live the life. I truly desire, and it comes out in one of seven ways.

[08:18]   Liz: Yes.

[08:19]   Rhea: And they are?

[08:20]   Liz: I Am Unlovable. I Am not Worthy. I Am Imperfect. I Am Undeserving. I Am Broken. I Am Evil. I Am Nothing.

[08:32]   Rhea: And it almost doesn't matter. We don't need to define which one we are just by listening to this.

[08:38]   Liz: Not at all.

[08:39]   Rhea: Because ultimately always comes down to the core of I Am not Good Enough. And we have set up our lives societally, individually, personally, in relationships, in our careers, in our families, we've set up all our lives to hide from the fact that we don't think we are good enough and karma, the inescapable bitch that you describe her as ...

[09:04]   Liz: One of my favorite phrases.

[09:06]   Rhea: Is here to show us that

[09:09]   Liz: And it's not meant to ruin our lives.

[09:11]   Rhea: You know, there is only one way and it's through. You can't side step around it. You can't go over it. You can't outthink it. You can't out feel it. You can't out pray it, do it, meditate it.

[09:23]   Liz: You can't outthink it either.

[09:25]   Rhea: No.

[09:25]   Liz: Outthink and outthank it.

[09:29]   Rhea: And at the end of the day, the reason for that is it's really here to remind us how powerful we are.

[09:32]   Liz: Yes.

[09:33]   Rhea: And the most beautiful and coolest thing about karma is that it's not just here to remind us all those things. The process of overcoming our karma teaches us how to create the life we desire. It teaches us how to live in our purpose. It teaches us how learn love, how to learn peace, how to learn ...

[10:00]   Liz: How to become happy

[10:01]   Rhea: How to become happy.

[10:03]   Liz: Yes. And it's a beautiful gift when you come out of it.

[10:08]   Rhea: Yeah. It's a beautiful gift. I agree with you, but you just can't see it that way when you're running away from it.

[10:14]   Liz: Ever, ever.

[10:15]   Rhea: And we can all agree that now there's no more running away from our shit. It is only in healing those parts, in going back holding ourselves and having compassion - which we will discuss - understanding we were always doing our best that we can move on from those traumatic places,

[10:35]   Liz: Because it's really just the fear of I am not good enough that underscores those themes and our karmic stories. And the karmic stories really are just stories. They are ways in which we experience that karma, but they don't define us as much as we believe they do.

[10:52]   Rhea: They are just a perspective.

[10:53]   Liz: Exactly. And so, as we heal our karma, our perspective just gets larger and larger.

[10:58]   Rhea: And that's why we say a change of perspective can change everything.

[11:01]   Liz: Absolutely. Because then you can see it for really what it is and then it stops being so scary. It then allows us to see how much of life is possible and does connect us to our true potential.

[11:13]   Rhea: And at the end of the day, if we are the God in our own universe, if we are the most powerful person in our world, then changing our perspective will change everything, because it will change our world.
